Google is building a time machine and it's calling it Recorded Future. While it will not allow you to go back in time it will allow them to search into your future.

Basically it allows financial analysts, intelligence analysts, and predictors to organise and aggregate future observations. Recorded Future organizes information about the future and makes it available to our users. Recorded Future's customers are some of the top government agencies and trading firms in the world.

NEW 45W duals, quads and a tri-core are coming

The Athlon II X2 245e is a Regor-based processor clocked at 2.9GHz with a 45W TDP. It will sell for €79 and some time later AMD will also introduce a 3GHz part, dubbed 250e. On another note, next week AMD will also start shipping the 3.2GHz Athlon II X2 260. It should cost around €75 and it has a 65W TDP.

For €100 you can get a tri-core Athlon II X3 415e, clocked 2.5GHz. It's based on the Rana core and like the rest of the 'e' series Athlons it features a 45W TDP. A new 45W quad-core is also on the way. The 610e is based on the Propus core and it's clocked at 2.5GHz. It's currently listed at around €140, but we believe it should sell for a bit less once it launches, as the 2.4GHz 605e is available for under €100

A major security hole in Facebook is self inflicted and caused by the social notworking site's security "improvements". The bug permitted some users' chat messages and pending friend requests to be made visible to their friends by manipulating the 'preview my profile' feature of Facebook privacy settings."

Facebook said that when it received reports of the problem, our engineers promptly diagnosed it and temporarily disabled the chat function. “We also pushed out a fix to take care of the visible friend requests which is now complete. Chat will be turned back on across the site shortly. We worked quickly to resolve this matter, ensuring that once the bug was reported to us, a solution was quickly found and implemented," Facebook said.source

China-based PC players coming with tablets

Digitimes is reporting that Lenovo is currently working on R&D in cooperation with Taiwan-based notebook makers Quanta Computer and Wistron. It wants to have a machine out by the end of the year. Lenovo already has IdeaPad U1 Hybrid that features designs characteristics of both a notebook and tablet PC. However it wants a pure tablet PC, probably to match the iPad's cut down functionality.

Hanwang is working with Taiwan-based FIC for its tablet PCs. Hanwang wants two product lines. One will have Windows 7 with a Intel ultra low-voltage or Atom Z530 processor. The other featuring Android with a processor from Freescale. Malata, have also started developing tablet PCs.

Nokia vs Apple Over iPad and iPhone Patents

With news that that iPad will be hitting international territories on May 28 also comes word from Nokia that it has today filed a complaint against Apple with the Federal District Court in the Western District of Wisconsin, alleging that Apple iPhone and iPad 3G products infringe five important Nokia patents.
The patents in question relate to technologies for enhanced speech and data transmission, using positioning data in applications and innovations in antenna configurations that improve performance and save space, allowing smaller and more compact devices.

Taiwan university is working on a invisible dress

A bunch of students at Shih-Chien University in Taiwan are working on a dress that can potentially become invisible. Now before you get excited, said dress will make the wearer invisible as well.In a sense, invisibility is just transparency applied. The dress—if and when fully developed—will make use of a textile-based display, or display technology directly integrated into the cloth. The system takes what the camera at the back sees, and projects it on the textile display up front. The ideal result? The wearer becomes effectively invisible, literally and visual blending into the background. It's just like that car in Die Another Day.

109 New Laptops This Summer are coming with powerfull AMD chips

AMD's latest power-efficient processors will appear in 109 mainstream laptop models set for launch this summer--just in time for the back-to-school sales season. That's a significant jump compared to last year, with AMD showing up in only 40 laptop models in the same timeframe. It's also a sign that laptop manufacturers are looking for better solutions to reduce overall power consumption on devices.
