Although the market is currently buying Intel's matured Nehalem-based chips since the beginning of this year (although Apple only finally caught up just yesterday) with the Core i3, i5 and i7 CPUs, the chipmaker has revealed when the next CPU successor, Sandy Bridge will hit.

Buffalo's new SSDs with PATA Support

buffalo is launching a series of solid state drives (SSDs) that address the needs of users with older machines--namely those old-school rigs without SATA connections. Arriving in a 2.5-inch form factor, the new SHD-NHPU2 line will instead offer Parallel ATA (Ultra ATA/133 UDMA mode 6) support and a USB 2.0 jack located in the back.

5 Laptops better then New MacBook Pros.

Yesterday APPLE took down its online store and when it came back online, its entire MacBook Pro line was revamped with new specs. All the 15-inch models went from Core 2 Duo processors up to Core i5 and i7's. Available now are Core i5 and i7 options with entirely new Nvidia graphics. Each of the 15-inch MacBook Pros also comes with integrated Intel graphics and the units will automatically kick between the two based on usage.

Atom drives car systems

Intel has outlined the latest Intel system-on-chip (SoC) products for embedded applications. The move seems to be to shove the Atom processor core in places you would not expect.

Intel is doing deals that will allow outfits to create PCI Express -compliant devices that directly connect to the chip, which offers new flexibility for embedded applications. Intel said it is working with HawTai, a major Chinese car maker that plans to use Intel Atom processors and MeeGo software for their in-car infotainment systems. In addition, China Mobile, the world's largest wireless telecommunications company, will adopt Intel chips for targeted platforms powering its wireless networks.

Intel show's strong Q1 earnings

Intel has posted its Q1 earnings report and the numbers were impressive to say the least.

The company reported $10.3 billion in revenues, a record for Q1. It noted that it saw strong demand for mobile chips and that there were signs companies were starting to reinvest in their IT infrastructure.

'Asus' Radeon HD 5870 Matrix managed to OCed to 1525MHz

Asus' Radeon HD 5870 Matrix managed to get quite some fame rates and has proved that it is indeed an overclocking beast. Elmor and Kinc, the guys that are known well on XtremeSystems forums, managed to push the GPU of this card all the way from 894MHz (850MHz for the reference card) to a quite impressive 1525MHz.

The memory on the card was overclocked to 1300MHz (4.9GHz effective), but it is nowhere close to the GPU clock. The best part of this overclock is that the card didn't die at 1525MHz but also managed to run stable at 1500MHz, just a notch lower clock and score P29342 in 3Dmark Vantage.

The rest of the setup included Intel's Core i7 980X Extreme Edition running at 4492.9MHz and at 1.52V, Asus Rampage III Extreme motherboard, 6GB of Corsair Dominator GTX DDR3 memory and powered by Antec 1200W PSU.check out 3d mark score here.

Israel do not want iPad

The Israeli Communications Ministry has issued an order prohibiting the import of iPads to Israel. Customs officials were ordered to confiscate the devices and conduct a full body cavity search of the owners.

The ministry's engineering staff refused to approve the device for the Israeli market and it seems that their decision didn't go down within the ministry itself. In the end the ministry did not give its approval, saying the iPad is not compatible with Israeli standards. Since the ministry announced its decision yesterday, 10 iPads were confiscated at Ben-Gurion International Airport despite the fact that their owners declared them and offered to pay VAT.

iPad launch delayed

CNN is reporting that Apple will delay the international launch of its overhyped iPad tablet until the of May.

The fruity toymaker was supposed to start shipping the iPad in select European markets and Oceania in late April, but it claims it was forced to make the difficult decision to delay the launch by a month due to strong demand in the US.
