Intrinsity Acquisition

Apple made its third semiconductor company acquisition in a stealthy manner by not making any public announcements. The alert online community discovered via some careful sleuthing that Austin, TX based Intrinsity Inc's employees had started to work for Apple from the beginning of April 2010. SEC filings made by Apple for its quarterly earnings report on April 20, 2010 indicated that Apple spent around $325 million for business acquisitions. Though Intrinsity's name wasn't publicly disclosed, a knowledge of Apple's recent acquisitions indicated that the total amount was spent on Quattro Wireless, LaLa and Intrinsity

Big Bang-XPower anounced

Popular motherboard manufacturer MSI has announced  the next weapon in their motherboard arsenal - the MSI Big Bang-XPower. Like other second generation X58 motherboards, the XPower will feature SATA 6G and USB 3.0 teamed up with a slew of overclocking features in order to captivate the enthusiast market
MSI are keen to promote their new 16-phase CPU VRM and liberal use of long-life tantalum capacitors as key selling points. The MSI V-kit is added for voltage monitoring and adjustment of VCore, VTT, DDR and PCH voltages - OC Genie and OC Dashboard are also included.

A new DDR3-2000 Flare Series for AMD

G.Skill has updated its Flare memory series with a new dual channel DDR3-2000 kit for new Phenom II X6 CPUs and AMD 800 series motherboards.

AMD has finally released a full WHQL-certified version of its April driver

After two previews of its 10.4 driver, AMD has finally released a full WHQL-certified version of its April driver. The new driver supports all Radeon cards from HD 2000 series onwards, but all performance improvements are reserved for, as you could have guessed, HD 5000 series cards.

The new driver features new video enhancements as well, as it comes with H.264 Level 5.1 support with the ability to playback 5.1 level streams on all supported players as well as the ability to playback high resolution content (4Kx2K).

The ASUS Eee Keyboard PC announced

After over a year, Asus has finally decided to officially announce the Eee Keyboard PC, a small home entertainment PC packed in a standard QWERTY keyboard with a 5-inch touch screen.

According to Asus, the Eee Keyboard PC features an Atom N270 CPU paired up with Intel's 945GSE chipset, 1GB of DDR2 memory and either 16GB or 32GB of SSD storage, depending on the SKU. It has a two speakers and built-in mic, 802.11bgn WiFi, Gigabit LAN, Bluetooth, Broadcom's 70010/70012 video decoder, and features an internal battery enough for 4 hours of usage.

25W corei7 are coming in q4 2010

Core i7 600LM, low voltage mobile CPU scheduled to launch in Q4 2010 will work at 2.26GHz. If this is not enough from this dual-core Arrandale 32nm-based CPU with 45nm graphics, with a little help from Intel's Turbo it will boost its clock all the way over the magic 3GHz mark, to 3.06GHz to be percise. Its graphics will work at 266MHz when you don’t need much graphics power, but the core will increase its clock to 566MHz when you put it under lot of pressure.
