Fermi was most awaiting G P U till date. It is capable of changing the definition of the GRAPHIC PROCESSING UNIT. It is highly impressive due to its high end performance. It is the most powerful single graphic solution on the planet which is10 to 15 percent faster then A M D/A T I flagship 5870 depending on application to application. So I think it is serious gamers paradise. And NVIDIA also offered some good drivers support and lots of features which are not available on rivals.

But Fermi (gtx480) put more negative impression then positive impression. Because of its more complex architecture it is one of the most power hungry single graphic solution on the planet with a massive TDP equal to 250w compared to competitors 188w which is not a good deal according to power to performance ratio. It is also one of the hottest card on the planet due to its high thermal design power and it is also a louder one. NOW come to the price point performance wise gtx480 and 470 are faster then 5870 and 5850 so these are not for mainstream market and will sold near to $400 mark. The mainstream Fermi chips like 450,440,420,410 are in pipeline and will show their faces in near future. The Fermi series already delayed to six months but it will definitely effect the G P U market. We can see noticeable price reduction in the A M D 5k series in near future but I think this will not effect the A T I at all since A T I already sold more then 2 million 5k series chips and already achieve its objective so price reduction will be helpful for A T I since A T I six month old monster performed well against newly arrived cards and these new cards are coming with some cluster disabled. We can also see some over clocked 5870 from A T I like 4890 last year. And it can also be the begning of price war between two.
