A new Sony, Intel, Google internet TV

April 29 (Bloomberg) -- Sony Corp., trying to reverse sales declines in its TV division, will announce home-entertainment devices next month that use Intel Corp. chips and Google Inc. software, said two people familiar with the matter.

The companies plan to discuss the new products at a conference sponsored by Google in San Francisco on May 19 and May 20, said the people, who asked not to be identified because details are still being worked out. Intel is contributing a customized version of its Atom chip that will run a new version of Google’s Android operating system called Dragonpoint.

Asus says its EeePC netbooks will be more popular than the iPad.

Asus CEO Jerry Chen recently told PC Advisor that the company's EeePC netbook series will be more popular than Apple's iPad because they address personal computing. That's certainly a very bold statement given that Apple sold more than 300,000 iPad units on the first day of availability. Still, as with the iPhone and iPod Touch, the device doesn't really offer personalization. Instead, it's more suited for cloud computing.
"The tablet PC is a cloud computing device," he said, referring to the just-released iPad. "If it weren't for Apple, this market would develop a lot more slowly."

next Call of Duty will be "Call of Duty: Black Ops"

Friday night SpikeTV is expected to reveal the next installment of the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Black Ops, through a world premier video airing at 12:40 am EST (which is technically Saturday morning). Produced by Activision Publishing's Treyarch studio, the game has a launch date of November 9th, 2010. Unfortunately, no other information was provided, nor was there any indication that this is the rumored title based in Vietnam.
