During RIM’s WES conference a lot of the mystery and questions surrounding the upcoming release of BlackBerry OS 6.0 are finally starting to become clearer. We spent some time shaking the bushes and asking some questions in an attempt to see what we could really find out about perhaps the most pivotal release of the BlackBerry OS in the company’s history.
We do know that it will start to be released next calendar quarter. We do not yet know what this means, but based on input from our contacts and sources; you can expect it to arrive on the latest new devices first. At some point some of the most recent BlackBerry devices will likely get OS 6.0 update firmware. However, we are told that carriers will have to approve it and not all devices are going to be upgradeable to OS 6.0. Best bet right now is that the higher end OS 5.0 devices will likely be among the first to get it, and could be the safest bet to buy if you want OS 6.0 upgradability in the future.

put YOUR NEW Macbook IN KITCHEN
It is starting to look that the new range of Macbooks is starting to show all Apple's latest flair for design genius.
Apparently the highly priced 17-inch MacBook Pro, which uses the the Core i7-620M, runs a little hot. It seems that while the i7 is a fast chip, it produces too much heat for the Apple chassis. One punter claims that the beast is "almost too hot" to touch.

illness created by computer
Doctors have decided that crashing machines, slow boot times and dealing with technical support have created a new illness. (And coincidentally a new source of income for quacks. sub.ed.)
Dubbed Computer Stress Syndrome, the illness was identified as a result of a study. The report identified sources of peoples' pain as "frustrating, complex computers and devices, technical failures, viral infections, and long waits to resolve support issues". More than 1000 people in the US America were surveyed by a customer experience board.

HP has acquired Palm with cool $1.2 billion.
HP today announced that it has acquired Palm at a price of $5.70 per share of Palm common stock in cash or an enterprise value of approximately $1.2 billion. The transaction has been approved by both HP's and Palm's boards of directors and is expected to close during HP's third fiscal quarter which ends July 31.
"Palm's innovative operating system provides an ideal platform to expand HP's mobility strategy and create a unique HP experience spanning multiple mobile connected devices," said Todd Bradley, executive vice president, Personal Systems Group, HP. "And, Palm possesses significant IP assets and has a highly skilled team. The smartphone market is large, profitable and rapidly growing, and companies that can provide an integrated device and experience command a higher share. Advances in mobility are offering significant opportunities, and HP intends to be a leader in this market."

A new version of Ubuntu OS on Thursday
Canonical said Tuesday that Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Desktop Edition will be "generally" available on April 29. This new version of the popular Linux desktop distribution will come packed with three years of support, faster boot speed, direct access to an online music store, a sleek new look, and social network integration. The OS will be free to download Thursday, and all also be pre-installed on systems appearing this summer.
As for the increased boot speed, Canonical said that it's notably faster on any machine, but is naturally blazing fast when using SSDs. In the social network department, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Desktop Edition provides users with a "Me Menu" that consolidates the process of accessing and updating social networks. "The Me Menu also integrates chat channels so users can talk with friends or colleagues on Google Talk, MSN, IRC and nearly every network," the company said.
